Our Commitment to You
Welcome to The Mobile Computer Doctor! Our goal is to provide fast, affordable, and reliable on-site computer repair services to our community. These policies are designed to ensure a clear, fair, and transparent relationship with our valued customers. By engaging our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Service Agreement
A request for an on-site service visit, whether made verbally over the phone or in writing via email or contact form, is considered a legally binding agreement. By scheduling a service, you acknowledge and agree to all terms outlined in this policy document.
Service Rates, Billing & Payment
- Standard Hours: Our hourly service rate ranges from $40 to $90, depending on the complexity of the issue.
- Emergency/After-Hours: Our emergency hourly rate ranges from $65 to $140, depending on the complexity of the issue.
- We will provide an estimate before beginning any work.
- Niobrara County Trip Charge: A flat rate of $7.00 applies (waived for services within Manville).
- Other Locations (less than 220 miles): A trip charge of $12.50 per 30 minutes of travel from our point of departure applies.
- Other Locations (greater than 230 miles): A trip charge of $17.00 per 30 minutes of travel from our point of departure applies.
- Note on Trip Charges: Trip charges are based on our point of departure. If we are already in a closer location when you request service, the charge will be calculated from that closer location. We will always provide an estimate of the travel charge before heading out.
- Payment Methods: We accept payment via cash, check, CashApp, and all major credit cards. We also accept most non-meme cryptocurrencies. A discount is available for services paid for with cash or crypto. Payment is due in full upon completion of service.
- Sales Tax: We are required by law to collect sales tax on all services and parts, based on the tax rate of the county where the service takes place.
- Special Orders: Any hardware or software that needs to be special-ordered for a repair or project must be paid for in full upfront before the order is placed.
- Diagnostic Fee: Diagnostic fees are waived if a customer chooses to accept our proposed solution(s) for repair.
Appointments, Cancellations & On-Site Service
- On-Site Work: Our goal is to resolve your issue in a single visit. In some cases, we may need to take your equipment back to our lab for more intensive diagnostics. This will only be done with your explicit consent.
- Customer Responsibility: A person of at least 18 years of age must be present during the entire time period of service. You are responsible for providing a safe working environment.
- Cancellation Policy: Any appointment not canceled or rescheduled with at least 48-hour notice is subject to a $10 fee.
- If a customer confirms a service visit and then cancels or declines service after our technician has arrived, the customer is liable for the full trip charge to their destination plus a $20 cancellation fee.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a customer is belligerent, abusive, or unnecessarily unkind to our staff. A safe and positive work environment is essential.
Warranty Policy
- Labor Warranty: We offer a 60-day warranty on all our labor.
- Parts Warranty: We offer a 90-day warranty on all new parts that we provide and install. If a manufacturer offers a longer warranty, we will honor that extended period.
- Computers Sold: New computers we build or sell come with a 12-month hardware warranty unless otherwise specified. Used or refurbished computers we sell come with a 6-month hardware warranty. This covers hardware failure from normal use.
- Exclusions: This warranty does not cover accidental damage (e.g., drops, spills, power surges, neglect, violence). The warranty is void if the user re-infects the system with malware. We are not responsible for damage to components if the equipment is not connected to a reliable surge protector.
Limitation of Liability & Indemnification
By engaging our services, the customer agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless The Mobile Computer Doctor from any and all liability for claims, damages, or losses, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or business interruption, not directly caused by our negligence. Our liability is strictly limited to the cost of the services provided.
Privacy, Data Handling, and Recycling
- Data Privacy & Confidentiality: We will never sell or share your personal information. All customer data is kept strictly confidential.
- Illegal Material: If we encounter any illegal material on your system, we will immediately cease all work.
- Data Backup & Risk of Loss: You are responsible for backing up your own data. We are not responsible for any data that is lost during a repair.
- Data Handling and Recycling: When recycling electronics, we ensure all data is **100% securely erased** (minimum four passes) or that the memory components are physically destroyed.
Abandoned Equipment Policy
- Equipment unpaid for after **60 days** of notification will be considered abandoned.
- Equipment paid for but not retrieved within **90 days** will be considered abandoned.
- We reserve the right to dispose of or sell abandoned equipment.
